Our approach is different and our experience unique. We will work with you, not just for you, to ensure your project is the way you’ve envisioned it.
Step 1
The first step in the design/build project is to get to know you. Simply call or email us and we will be happy to set up an in-home consultation.
Prior to our meeting we will send you a wish list to complete and fill out. This wish list will ask what your needs, wants, dreams and possible limitations are.
We will want to establish where you are in your planning process. Are you just beginning the planning process or have you already done some initial planning such as architectural drawings or design plans? Have you ever done a renovation before? This helps us to begin the process of focusing in on your particular needs and will serve as a starting point for our eventual face-to-face meeting with you.
Step 2
Our first priority of our visit is to gain a full understanding of how you would like to use your space. You will meet your design team who will be working with you for the entire length of your project. We will review your wish list and ask additional questions. We want to hear all of the ideas, plans, and concerns you have about your renovation. Your home is the most personal investment you have made, and you need to feel confident that your renovation can become the reality you envisioned. We understand this!
If you are just beginning the process of your renovation we will share our initial thoughts with you and discuss design, flow, and the importance of planning. If you have some initial planning complete we will review it with you and your architect or designer if you wish and share our ideas with you also.
Step 3
After our in-home consultation, we will have a good understanding of your design priorities and budget. We will then prepare a computer drawing of your existing floor plan. Our CAD system will show your exact layout, creating a precise drawing of where all structural and mechanical elements will be.
If you have architectural or design drawings we will review every aspect with you and your designer. This allows you to see the vision of your renovation begin to come to life in a more concrete way. This is the foundation that our team will use to begin your new design.
Step 4
We will then take the architectural or design plans you have or we will create for you several detailed plans that incorporate your wish list and all aspects of your project that have been discussed thus far. We will also apply our creativity and years of experience to show additional options you may not have considered.
After we receive your feedback, we will create the perfect plan for your needs, including a 3D rendering of your project that will bring it to life. It allows you to see just how every detail fits into your space and ensures that the vision you have matches the actual plan for your space. Whether it is a single room such as a master bath or an entire addition, this type of detailed planning is what makes us unique.
Step 5
We will review the 3D renderings of your project, final construction drawings, and a menu of pricing options. With our guidance you will then pick the ACTUAL materials, color schemes and any additional details necessary and the cost associated with them.
The drawings will illustrate full elevations and complete construction notes. Here you will truly see the design and budget come together. We will then work with you to select a construction start date and sign formal contracts. At this point if you do not have an architect and one is needed, we will provide one for you.
All of the first 5 steps above are what makes our approach so distinct. We are now able to move on to Step 6 confident that your project will be completed on time and on budget.
Step 6
- A dedicated project manager. Closely teamed with your designer, the project manager will let you know exactly what will be happening every day and set up regularly scheduled meetings to check on critical design detail.
- Minimal impact to your home. We go to great lengths to ensure maximum dust protection and minimal disruption to your living space.
