Our Story

A word from Cindi Norbut…

In 1986, Brad and David Norbut unofficially started Norbut Renovations. After the boys and I lost their father to cancer in 1984, I decided to try my hand at rehabbing houses and they were with me every step of the way. The first home I purchased was in desperate need of a complete rehabilitation. Brad, Dave and I began tearing down walls, hauling out debris and turning a dilapidated structure into a home. From a very early age, their love of construction was obvious. I even joked, saying, “Someday, my boys are going into the construction business.”

A seed was planted.

In 1990, the roof on our home had deteriorated. Brad, 15, and Dave, 11, helped me once again. Our family went to the library and checked out a book on how to replace a roof. The following weekend the boys tore off the old shingles, replaced the rotted plywood and completely replaced the roof. My boys completed the job start to finish all by themselves. That roof remains on the boys’ childhood home to this day.

The seed began to mature.

In 1994, Brad, 18, bought his first house with money he had been saving from a part-time job since he was 14. He renovated the property and rented the home. This opportunity helped Brad develop his management skills and over the next three years, he purchased several other properties that he restored.

In 1996, David, 17, decided to follow in his big brother’s footsteps and purchased his first home. Dave structured a deal with the owner so that he could pay the homeowner after he completed the renovations and sold the house. Six months later, Dave finished the renovations and sold the house at a considerable profit.

In 2002, Brad and Dave decided to pool their talents and form Norbut Renovations. They had both heard many stories of “bad” contractors, and of home renovation dreams turned into nightmares. Norbut Renovations was established with the idea that communication is the most effective way to ensure that every aspect a project receives the attention it deserves.

The seed had blossomed.

Norbut Renovations has grown from tearing apart homes in desperate need of care, to executing beautiful design/build services including: architectural engineering, planning, budgeting, supervision, design and construction.

We are incessantly seeking to perfect all aspects of our business, while providing exceptional levels of customer service.
